Blue Orchids: The Timeless Blue Beauty

Orchids are the largest family of flowers in the plant kingdom. Its origin is from the indigenous to the tropical and semitropical regions, such as Asia, South and Central America. Their size varies from a few millimeters, some so small that they can be viewed with the
microscope. These are called miniature orchids. The tallest can grow up to 6mt.Here we are talking about Blue Orchids, which is different species in the orchid family. Their beauty lies in its bright blue color.
Temperature To Be Considered:
Fluctuation in temperature is necessary. Durning the day when the temperature is high they have to produce energy in the form of carbohydrates and store it in the night when the temperature drops. The night temperature should be 60-62 degrees F, for ideal growth. Below that it may harm the plant. Too cold water can harm the plant.

Types of Blue Orchids:
1) Blue Vanda: This blue was discovered in 1837 on the kashi hills of India. These flowers are usually 10-13inches tall and have 4-6flowers, which bloom for up to 4-5 weeks. They grow best in cool air where there is regular misting. They are allergic to ethylene gas, so it is best to keep them away from fruits, vegetables.
2) Potted Dendrobium Indian Blue: The most gorgeous looking blue orchid among all. Its rare shades of deep purple blue are very attractive. For people who love royal colors this could be the perfect. The plant is 2-3feet tall and has 7-12 buds shipped in. It blooms to about 2.5inches in diameter. This slim cane blue orchid is a favorite among many orchid growers.
3) Dendrobium: In ancient palaces this flower was used for offering to the gods and for the welcome of guests. If proper care is taken these flowers can last for weeks. These blue orchids can be placed anywhere in the house to enhance the beauty .Its rich deep blue color will give a joyous atmosphere to your guests.
4) Sansai Blue Vanda Mokara: These orchids are created recently; they are hybridized from the Indian blue Vanda. These blooms have an enchanting smell of wild berries. Very delicate in their looks. They bloom particularly in the afternoon and early evening.
